  1. Hi Suzy and Dan:
As far as ideas for the "sightseeing" part of the social, I would think that whatever you guys enjoy doing in and around Portland, us RPSocialers will like too! But since you asked for ideas, I picked the brain of someone from the area, and here is what we came up with: 1. Multnomah Falls; this seems like a "must see", as a quintessential sight in Portland. This would have to be a "bus trip".2. In lieu of the falls, the Mt. St. Helens Visitor Center would be a cool trip to take on a bus of some sort. Perhaps one of these could be combined with the coast trip as the "big trip"? The rest can be arrived at by mass transit. 3.McMenamins Edgefield; seems like there is lots to do here; gardens, crafts such as glass blowing and pottery making to watch, food, pubs, etc. Plus the cool hotel itself. 4. The Japanese Gardens; sounds very zen-like. 5. Portland Saturday-Sunday Market; it seems like this is on the river, and there are lots of venders selling artsy and souvenir type stuff. If the Portland Arial Tram is nearby one of these sites, that would be cool too! As I said before, I'm sure whatever you and Dan plan will be fine; just throwing out some additional thoughts! I would glad to be the "leader" on any of these side trips so Pam could get some rest if she wants, lol. We do love and appreciate our "den-mother” though!! Hugs, Mickie
